Description
NASA’s Apollo 11 mission, which landed the first astronauts on the moon on July 20, 1969. Carrying Commander Neil Armstrong and Pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, the “Eagle” lunar module landed on the moon 102 hours and 45 minutes after launch from Cape Kennedy. Neil and Buzz were on the moon’s surface for 21.5 hours and collected the very first samples from another planetary body.
